Hi, I am Marco, initiator of this website on design and emotion.
Since 2004, this website has grown into an internationally renowned source for information on design, experience design and the emotional side of our experiences with products, brands and services. Design & Emotion is visited by a growing number of people.
The interviews I regularly publish with leading experts attract both professionals as students to this website in their hunger to learn from the big guys and get inspired. It is also possible to read personal columns that have been sent in by designers and experts from the field.
I regularly speak or write about designing for emotion. I also facilitate the workshop “Get emotional. An introduction to design for emotion” brought by SusaGroup, which is a great way for creatives or those interested to be introduced to the subject.

Biography
Marco van Hout (The Netherlands) holds a master degree in Communication Sciences, specializing in the emotional experience of (interactive) products, brands and services.
Marco is a founding partner of Monito Design & Internet, a company that specializes in innovative solutions for Internet applications. Marco is also co-founder and creative director of SusaGroup, a company that specializes in enabling companies to create more meaningful experiences through their products or services. SusaGroup also offers workshops, training and consultancy to companies and organizations who want to learn what impact their designs, products or services have on consumers’ experiences and how they can use this knowledge to improve those experiences. Marco is often invited to speak on the topic of design and emotion on corporate events, seminars, or conferences.
Marco is also board member and ambassador of the Design & Emotion Society. Furthermore, he is editor of the website “design & emotion“? where he publishes interviews with leading design professionals from some of the most respected brands and writes about the emotional impact of design, brands and services.
