Short impression of INDITEC 2007, Valencia

Posted by Marco van Hout on June 3rd, 2007

I just came back from giving a presentation at INDITEC 2007 in Valencia, Spain, where I spoke about ‘getting emotional’- understanding, researching and incorporating emotion in the design process.

The INDITEC congress had three objectives:

  1. Distributing innovation and its application into businesses
  2. Creating relationships between diverse advocates of innovation and innovative companies
  3. Contribute to the discussion of how businesses can improve their innovation processes

The congress had a good focus on how we should involve consumers and user-centered design techniques to take next steps in innovation. What I noticed is that Spanish companies are slowly getting rid of the conservative design approaches that focus mostly on the product. They are extremely eager to explore new methods and techniques that can help involving consumers and users in the design process of products.

A short photo impression of my stay in Valencia:
