In my last presentation I used the User Experience Cosmos, made by my friend Javier Cañada as an example to show the position of emotion design in the user experience ‘cosmos’ so to speak. Though Javier created it some time ago, it is still great to use for an example.

Detail of the User Experience Cosmos [by Javier Ca񡤡]

As you can clearly see in the cosmos, emotion design is in an area where only a few people, research fields, products or professional groups ‘live’ at the moment, leaving a lot of room for those who find themselves in the explorer-role.

Well, just thought I should not have kept it from you. Check it out!

Motto

I believe that consumers nowadays are looking for rich sensorial, emotional and meaningful experiences, not merely for ‘just’ a product or service. It is up to the companies to challenge their designers, R&D department and marketers to (positively) influence the experiential impact of their products and services.
